Introduction
Fragment of a medical treatise dealing with the interrelationship between regimen and the etiology of diseases. Varying nutritional capabilities are noted (ll. 1-3), as well as diets that are both moist and dry (ll. 3-5). On ancient theories of regimen cf. Joly 1960; Wöhrle 1990. Papyrus scrap (5.9x6 cm) from the top of a column (the upper margin [2.3 cm] and the right-hand intercolumnium [0.3-0.7 cm] survive, whereas the left-hand intercolumnium and the lower margin are lost). The supplements at ll. 2-4 show that the column was ca. 5.9 cm wide [ca. 22 letters]), copied on the recto along the fibers in a small-sized, round, informal bookhand with markedly bilinear letters (cf. e.g. BKT 2=CPF 3.9; P.Amh. 2.15; P.Harr. 1.38), likely from a literary roll of pre-Galenic date.
(This papyrus has been digitally edited by Isabella Bonati as part of the Project "DIGMEDTEXT - Online Humanities Scholarship: A Digital Medical Library based on Ancient Texts" (ERC-AdG-2013, Grant Agreement no. 339828) funded by the European Research Council at the University of Parma (Principal Investigator: Prof. Isabella Andorlini). The digital edition is mostly based on the previous editions (ed.pr. = R. Luiselli, GMP I 5)

Notes
- 1.
Food is poss. [ὑγ]ρά or [ξη]ρά, cf. e.g. Gal. AM 20 (1.356.12 K).
- 5.
The writer seems to be considering (i.e. ἱσ̣τάμενος) the doctrine of an authority. For moist and dry diet, cf. Durling 1993, 121-2.
- 6.
τ]ῶν παθῶ[ν] κοιν̣[ could mean ‘common element of affections’. The phrase also echoes Hp. Flat. 6.
- 9.
Poss. ἢ τ[ῶν ἀ]ν̣τίω̣[ν with allusion to the commonplace tenet that affection is healed by its opposite, e.g. Hp. Nat.Hom. 9.5; Flat. 1.26.
