Introduction

Treatise. The fragment (5.2 x 14.5 cm) is part of a papyrus codex and preserves the remains of 20 lines on side A, along the fibers, and 21 on side B, across the fibers. The right, left and lower margins are lost, while the upper margin survives. The column number is contained at the top of the text in both sides. The medical content possibly deals with νεῦρα (cf. ll. 15, 17 A; l. 6 B). The author is unknown, but he cites his own work (l. 5 B) and probably another authority (l. 9 B) identified by the first editor as Xenophon, the pupil of Praxagoras. The text is written in an upright literary hand characterized by some broad letters - ε in particular - and could be assigned to the 3rd c. AD.
