Introduction

Medical prescriptions (P.Fay.Coles 8). Two joining fragments (4.8 x 6.6 cm) written on the verso agaist the fibres (on the recto, four lines of a document in a cursive hand), containing part of a series of medical recipes, probably ophthalmic remedies.

    ἐπὶ πᾶσαν - possibly meaning "for all (sc. the disease)", e.g. ὀφθαλμίαν, though πρός is the usual preposition in such phrases (see e.g. P.Tebt. 273,iv πρὸς πᾶσαν ὀφθαλμίαν).
