Introduction
Medical-philosophical treatise. The papyrus consists of two fragments (frag. 1: 26 x 12.3 cm; frag. 2: 6.5 x 2) containing on the verso the remains of two columns of writing (on the recto: a documentary text). In frag. 1, upper and lower margins survive. Although the lacunosity of the text makes the positive determination of its meaning difficult, its main focus appears to be on baldness, which is discussed in connection with patient's humoral condition and anatomic configurations. The topic is extensively treated in Arist. GA 781b.30ff. and the papyrus seems to be a reworking of Aristotelian materials (see Roselli 1980, 331-3). The script is an informal majuscule dating back to the 2nd cent. AD.

Notes
- 15.
διακναίω (‘wear out’, LSJ) is glossed as a synonym of διαφθείρω (ll. 15-6) in both Erot. 33.18 N and Hsch. δ 56-7. Διακναίω is also attested in the Hippocratic and Aristotelian corpus (see e.g. Hp. Mul. 1.64 [8, 132.4 L] and Roselli 1980, 335).
- 27.
πηνιγκεν̣[...]: an aoristic form of ἐπιφέρω or ὑποφέρω.
- 29.
υδρωτ: probably a mistake for ιδρωτ, see Arist. Pr. 965b.4 attesting the association between hair, veins and sweat. Nonetheless, the reading υδρωτ[...] cannot be completely excluded (see Roselli 1980, 335).
