Introduction

Medical prescriptions (P.Aberd. 10). Papyrus fragment (10.5 x 5.1 cm) complete at the top and broken off on the other three sides. The ed.alt. states that it looks like a typical recipe for a kind of plaster, an ἔμπλατρος ἐπουλωτική, of which Galen gives a large number of samples in Comp.med.gen. 3-6 (13.681 ff. K), but the presence of a filling stroke at l. 8 (transcribed in the ed.pr. but not in the ed.alt, which prints a vacat instead) and of a blank space at l. 16 (apparently a vacat, though the photo seems to shows some very scanty traces of ink that might belong to another filling stroke) make us think of a collection of at least three prescriptions.
