Introduction

Medical treatise. Papyrus fragment (6.6 x 5.6 cm) broken on left, right and lower sides, preserving on the recto small portions of three lines written along the fibers (verso is blank). The upper margin of ca. 2.7 cm still survives. The first line is surrounded by decorative border designs and contains a section title, which surmounts very scanty remains of a chapter on τροχίσκοι (“pills”). The text probably belonged to a pharmacological work. The hand is skilled and professional, writing in an elegant severe style datable to the late 2nd-early 3rd cent. AD.
