Introduction
Hippocrates, Aph. III 20, 23-24 (cum scholiis ad III 24 et 27); III 29, 31; IV 1 (cum scholiis); IV 5 (cum scholiis). The four fragments (a: 3.4 x 2.2 cm; b: 4.4 x 5.6 cm; c: 7.5 x 5.5 cm; d: 1.3 x 2.1 cm) belong to a papyrus codex of medium quality whose original dimensions cannot be determined. The manuscript has wide margins: the lower one is ca. 3 cm wide, and the lateral one measures 5.6 cm approximately. The first three fragments are certainly part of the same leaf; so probably does fr. d, though its content is unclear. The scholia added in the margins find no parallel in the Medieval MSS, and thus reveal an independent exegetic tradition probably related to the teaching practice of a local medical school. The texts is written in a large sloping book hand, while the scholia are copied by a different scribe in a small semi-cursive script; the artifact can be dated to the 6th c. AD.
(This papyrus has been digitally edited by Francesca Corazza as part of the Project "DIGMEDTEXT - Online Humanities Scholarship: A Digital Medical Library based on Ancient Texts" (ERC-AdG-2013, Grant Agreement no. 339828) funded by the European Research Council at the University of Parma (Principal Investigator: Prof. Isabella Andorlini). The digital edition is mostly based on the previous editions (ed.pr. = J.W.B. Barns, P.Ant. III 183; ed.alt. = I. Andorlini-Marcone, Corpus dei papiri filosofici 1.2.1, 18 4, p. 89-96))

Cf. Hipp., Aph. III 23-24. Ca. 6 lines are lost between frr. a and b. The identification between lines 1-4 and Aph. III 20 was suggested by Andorlini.
- 1.
Cf. Hipp., Aph. III 27. Line 1 is regarded as part of the text in the margin by the first editor.

Cf. Hipp., Aph. III 29-30.

Cf. Hipp., Aph. III 31, IV 1. The traces of one letter at the end of l. 3 in the marginal notation are regarded by the first editor as the first line of the main text.
- 4.
The letter Δ̣ (= 4) in ekthesis probably indicates the number of the book, whereas the following α̣.could refer to the first aphorism.
- 5-6.
ησ̣[σον at the end of l. 14 in the marginal notation is regarded as part of the main text by the first editor.
