Introduction
Gynaecological treatise. The papyrus fragment (7.1 x 5.7 cm) is part of a roll and preserves 16 lines of a column whose margins are lost. No lectional sign survives and corrections occur in lines 12 and 13. A few technical medical terms, such as μήτρα, ὑμήν, στόμα, τράχηλος, suggest the fragment contains part of a gynecological treatise probably describing the different complications that may arise at childbirth, that can be compared in a few points with Soranus, Gynaecia. The papyrus is written in an upright, informal majuscule script of small dimensions, which shows some cursive element (see ε, κ). It could be dated to the second half of 1st-first half of the 2nd c. AD.
(This papyrus has been digitally edited by Francesca Corazza as part of the Project "DIGMEDTEXT - Online Humanities Scholarship: A Digital Medical Library based on Ancient Texts" (ERC-AdG-2013, Grant Agreement no. 339828) funded by the European Research Council at the University of Parma (Principal Investigator: Prof. Isabella Andorlini). The digital edition is mostly based on the previous edition (D. Manetti, BKT X 22))
